Burano - Colourful city of lacework, September 2010

Buranao is famous for its lacework, its amazing colours, and as a fishing village.
Lacework is an art that is being lost, especially when it is handmade as in Burano.

You cannot describe the use of colour. Enjoy the colourful experience and imagine or surprise as we turned every corner and looked up every alley of this small town.

Lunch time - this is what they call beef English style. Still Muna is always up for cold meats.
This looks a lot more like Allan. Sole fish, monkfish and scampi. The sole was truly amazing - brought back really pleasnat memories of lunch by the wharf at Amsterdam.
Nice park near the ferry terminal.
Lemons are big.

the town square was not that busy, most people near the canal in the shopping district.

Masked balls are popular here too.
Could not decide which colour I liked best.

lovely outside cafes abound.

the coloured houses were one way to find your way home if you were a fisherman returning in the fog.
